Since 1997 company President and CEO Paul J. Contreras has been in the construction business working for several of the nation's largest residential home remodeling companies. He founded homeco in 2001. In 2013 homeco expanded to include custom home building in and around the San Antonio and South Texas Hill Country areas. In 2021 homeco opened its second office in Boerne, Texas to better serve the expanding growth in and around the hill country area. In 2025 homeco will open its third office in the north Austin area
